We recently booked a game drive and lunch with you and would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Umzolozolo Safari Lodge for making our visit the highlight of our holiday. Our original booking was for a lunch at Umzolozolo, followed by a game drive in the afternoon. When we arrived at the lodge, the warm heartfelt welcome from Dave, Debbie, Kora and the breathtaking views from the lodge easily persuaded us stay overnight. We had come from the UK and thought this was a lifetime opportunity for my partner Lee, who had never been to Africa before. The best to way to describe our stay with Dave and Debbie was that it felt like we were visiting with family. They both made us feel so at ease and comfortable, and they couldn’t do enough to provide us with everything we needed. Dave made a valiant effort to track a variety of wildlife, and we also managed to sight a pregnant lioness, a buffalo and BFE the elephant. Debbie ensured that we were diligently attended to at dinner time, a dinner I might add that was so absolutely amazing we needed to take a break half way to make space for more. I had not mentioned during our visit, but my partner Lee had tragically lost his father 2 days before we arrived at Umzolozolo. So the fact that he couldn’t stop smiling the whole time he was there, meant everything to us, he was talking about his time at the Safari lodge all the way back home. I certainly hold Dave and Debbie fully responsible for making our time at Umzolozolo an experience we will never forget, my brother Steven was so impressed, he is planning to book the Honeymoon suite for his wedding anniversary next year! So yes, 5 stars and 10 points go to Umzolozolo Safari lodge for service, accommodation, cuisine, sensational wildlife setting, atmosphere and a all round spectacular stay!! Please extend our thanks and praise to Debbie, Dave and staff. They are the reason your guests will keep on coming back for more! |

Neil, we would like to take our hats off to your staff at Umzolozolo!! Dave and Debbie are the best hosts anyone could ask for. We were there from a Tuesday through to Sunday and had the best time ever! Dave was our ranger and his knowledge on the animals was fantastic! Our drives were fun and informative. Raymond, Cora, Pinky just to name a few were awsome and their service was fantastic! We will be going back for our honeymoon!! Look forward to possibly meeting you then. |

My husband and our two kids (age15 and12) have just spent the most amazing weekend at your lodge. It was our first visit to Nambiti and we were not sure what to expect. Everything was just superb. Our kids thought they were in heaven! Dave and Debbie were so welcoming and efficient and must be complimented for their helpfulness and kindness (and food). Bradley was our ranger. What a pleasure it was to spend time with him and to learn from him. His knowledge is just amazing, whether we were learning about the obvious game reserve animals, his knowledge on plants, insects, birds, his vehicle, the resort, was phenomenal! He imparts his knowledge it with passion and maintained our interest at all times! He related well to the kids and to us. Our children appreciated our visit and we felt that spending that extra bit to go somewhere with game drives was worth our while. Compliments to Bradley! |

It stems from our recent stay at Umzolozolo. I am a keen but mediocre golfer and during the past year I and three colleagues somehow won the first prize at the U.J.W. day. The prize was 2 nights at Umzolozolo. My wife and I had been to Nambiti two years ago and stayed at another lodge and were not very impressed. We have however just come back from Umzolozolo where we spent last Wednesday and Thursday. It has become a rather trite expression but we were blown away. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special. The welcome on our arrival, the attention to every detail, the continued friendly attitude of every member of the staff without going over the top was striking. The accommodation was lovely and the food superb. Dave took us on a number of game drives and his knowledge of the trees, grasses, birds and animals was outstanding. Debbie and the rest of the staff were there to attend to every need. Everyone was attentive without ever being intrusive. The food was beautifully presented and prepared. To say that we were impressed is an understatement.
My wife and I have travelled extensively in Southern and East Africa. Our fortuitous stay in your lodge was more enjoyable than any of our past experiences and made us feel proud to find this quality of service in South African, where we have unfortunately got used to mediocre service and a quality of food and personal attention which often leaves a lot to be desired. I am not accustomed to writing this type of letter but we both felt it would be nice for you to get some feedback and an honest assessment of the your lodge and the staff. Quality in any field is not accidental and always reflects the interest and input of the owners. Well done!

We wanted to let you and your team know that we had such a fabulous time while we were at Umzolozolo. We loved the décor, the food, the cleanliness, and especially the individual attention that we received from the friendly and professional staff. It was an absolute pleasure to be hosted by Di, Dave, Cora and Raymond. I must make special mention of the men – Dave was a fantastic ranger, who has an astounding level of knowledge of Nambiti. He was able to provide our diverse group with information on the geology, the animals, the birds and the plants in the reserve. And Raymond was also excellent – he gave us advice on wines, was always happy to prepare us coffee, and the plates always seemed to magically disappear from our table within second of them being emptied! He was even so kind as to relay the cricket result to my sport-crazed fiancé when we were on one of the afternoon game drives. We look forward to booking our next holiday in February 2012. My son especially wishes to return to complete Level 2 of his Junior Ranger course J Keegan had such a lovely time, he didn’t want the holiday to end. I also have a friend who is getting married, and I have recommended for her to come to your lodge for her honeymoon. She was impressed with my photo’s I took and also with your rates, and hopes that you will also be running specials for then. I will pass on your details to her, and I am sure she will get back to you soon. The only minor disappointment for us was that the Cheetah Experience was not available – but this gives us something to look forward to doing next time!

We had an absolutely amazing stay @ Umzolozolo Lodge. The staff where all extremely helpful, informative, friendly and hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I totally forgot to mention the food as one of the highlights of our stay on the form I completed on our departure – it really was of such high quality and quantity. Compliments to the chief for a palatable variety of superbly presented meals & deserts – well done! Also the change of table settings for each meal & the attention to detail all round is extremely creative and innovative. To all the staff “behind the scenes” who meticulously cleaned our room and maintained the exterior to include gardens – a big thank you. Our guide John really excelled in his extensive knowledge and was successful in showing us a large variety of your wild life. Special thanks also to Raymond who literally took the jacket off his back to loan me because I was cold and who was extremely efficient in all areas and to Bart who bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable and to Bradley for his friendliness and footage of the buffalo charge he shared – you truly do have an amazing team. Last but not least, thank you so much for your efficiency in dealing with my bookings and all my questions & concerns.

We had a wonderful weekend and were totally spoilt by all. Our Swiss guests were in awe of Umzolozolo, the people the animals, they did not want to leave, neither did Fredi and I but we know we are going back in November so it was a bit easier for us.

WOW - is all I can say! I have returned from Umzolozolo with great sadness in having left. My sister and I had an amazing weekend and we have vowed to return soon. There is something magical about Umzolozolo that can not be described in words.
The accommodation was beautiful - nothing beats sitting in your own Jacuzzi overlooking the valley and sipping sherry having just been pampered by Bridget's hands! The food was also amazing and one was never left hungry (don't think I will be weighing in at weigh less this week).
Dave and Debbie were wonderful at making us feel at home and ensured that all our needs were met. Raymond was also very attentive and took the trouble pointing out star formations on our way back to our rooms.
To me the highlight were the game drives and having Brad share his knowledge and passion for the bush and animals with us. It is clearly evident that he is doing something that he loves. I am truly envious that he gets to do that everyday.
Just spending the weekend there, gave me a great sense of inner peace and also a oneness with creation. I can not thank you enough for the part that Umzolozolo and the people that I met played in making it all possible and for showing me a little piece of heaven.
Someone asked me how my weekend was and I actually said that I was "in love" with it all - which means that I will definitely be returning soon and recommending it to all!!
