A typical day at Umzolozolo
9 luxurious suites with panoramic views, freestanding, constructed with local materials and thatch. The air conditioned rooms are spacious and secluded with private viewing decks where guests can relax and observe the herds of zebra, wildebeest and impala as they graze below. The suites have been designed to allow maximum game viewing from every room with large picture windows looking out onto the valley. In addition to a private bathroom, each suite has an outdoor shower so that even while showering, our guests can immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of Nambiti. Showering in view of a herd of antelope or elephant is an unforgettably African experience!

Day One
Breakfast is served, on the deck or the veranda depending on the weather. This hearty meal is a taste extravaganza. Delight your taste buds and satisfy any hankering with a selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, freshly baked pastries, muffins, cheeses and preserves and a full English breakfast to order, the star of which is always the chefs creative daily specialty.
Lunch is served on the deck, veranda or around the pool. Our chefs will conjure up something new and exotic for your taste buds with a variety of crisp colourful salads, fresh homemade breads and delectable meat dishes to choose from, and you can always count on there being something sweet and decadent to end off the meal. Have a chat to your ranger whilst you sip on a cup of tea or coffee, selecting your sun downer drinks in anticipation of your afternoon drive.
Steaming or cool vanilla infused face cloths awaits you as your ranger helps you off the game viewer. You can return to your suite to freshen up or make your way to the boma where a roaring fire is blazing in the crisp night air. Pre-dinner drinks are served by the glowing light of the fire and the exciting details of the day’s events are discussed, with much of the conversation directed towards the sheer beauty and mystery of the sights and sounds that surrounds you. Dinner is now served, either under the stars in the boma, in the lounge by the fire place (depending on the weather) or a romantic candlelight dinner for two can be arranged in the privacy of your suite. Our resident chefs have had many years of experience in top restaurants and lodges and this is evident when you experience the sublime and the subtle flavours of the food, a unique African twist displayed in the presentation of each gorgeous dish.
Day Two
As your morning game drive departs the sun peeps its head over the horizon, bathing the landscape in a soft blanket of dazzling light. Sit back and take it all in, this is Africa, this is when your senses stir, as you feel the surrounding bush come to life in the welcome warmth of the sun’s rays. For the next 3 hours your ranger will keep your enthralled as you seek out and discuss fauna and flora as it awakens before your eyes.
Now it’s time to relax, take in the magnificent views of the valley below, have a refreshing dip in the rim flow pool, sipping on a delicious cocktail or simply lie back on the deck, scanning the plains below for the abundant wildlife that moves across the terrain. Become enthralled by the prolific birdlife that frequents the lodge grounds, keeping guest endlessly captivated. You could also choose to retire to your beautiful furnished room, with your favourite magazine or book whilst simply enjoying the tranquillity. This is also the perfect time to allow yourself to be spoilt in our Health Spa room with its breath-taking views of the endless plains of Nambiti is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a massage, we also offer manicures and pedicures which will leave you feeling relaxed and beautiful.
Once again the excitement builds, you head off into the bush in the warmth of the afternoon sun. Relax in the back of the open topped 4×4 game viewer and watch as the light becomes soft golden, feel the air as it becomes still and crisp, this is the perfect time to stop for a sun downer. The copper sun hangs low in the sky and your ranger has found the perfect vantage point. You sip on sundowners and savour the wonderful array of snacks discussing the sightings made only minutes before. This is also the time to simply listen and take in the beauty that surrounds you, listen to the bush awaken in the way that it does so only as dusk settles in. You hop back onto the vehicle and feel the African night to see the nocturnal creatures of the bush, both large and small, as they go about their fascinating nightly activities beneath the breath-taking display of the jeweled night sky
Sip a nightcap around the glowing embers of the boma fire or on the deck beneath millions of stars as you reflect back on your day. When your bed beckons your ranger will show you back to your suite. Melt into your luxurious bed linen and slowly drift off to haunting call of jackal or the majestic roar of the lions and know how it feels to be truly at peace in the stillness of the African wild. Sleep soundly in anticipation of another adventure filled day that awaits you when you wake to the glorious African dawn.
